We Must Have It — Self-Control

Self-control is the discipline to say no when our flesh wants to say yes. It’s the Spirit’s power working within us to bring our emotions, desires, and actions under His authority.

We must have self-control because without it, every other fruit loses stability. Love without self-control can turn into obsession. Joy without self-control becomes recklessness. But when the Spirit leads, self-control protects what God produces in us.

It’s choosing God’s will over our impulses, His timing over our impatience, His peace over our reactions.

Prayer~

Lord, give me self-control in every area of my life. Teach me to respond, not react; to pause, not panic; to yield, not rebel. Let Your Spirit govern my heart and mind. Amen.
