Scripture~
But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Luke 5:16 NIV
I am a firm believer, that in order to recharge, and maintain our spiritual stamina and not burnout; Resting seasons are essential.
There were times during Jesus’s ministry when he got away from the crowds and commotion and chaos around him, to pray, be still, and to recharge. This is noted from our scripture today, along with other verses from the Bible that confirms Jesus going into a place of solitude to recharge and prepare for the task necessary for the assignment.
Usually, I have found the last few years, the Lord calls me to take resting seasons during the summer months, and holidays. Not only is this time I spend with my family, but this is time I allow God to work on me. To restore, to rebuild, to pluck out what needs to be plucked out, so that I can continue to plow in his garden.
Life will not stop coming, therefore we must intentionally invest in times or rest, self care, and most importantly striving to get back to the basics. The basics are RIG.
RIG means to Rest In God. Rekindle the relationship and connection with our ABBA Father.
Therefore, It is time to take another rest in Him.
In the meantime, I encourage you to take personal time for prayer, devotion, Bible study, communion with the Lord.
Everything we need is in God’s Word and will be given to us, to replenish and refresh us during this rest.
Much Love
