Closing Devotional: The Fruit of the Spirit — We Must Have It
Over these weeks of WellWatered Wednesdays, we’ve walked through every fruit of the Spirit — not as suggestions, but as essential evidence of a life led by God. Each fruit stands strong on its own, yet together they form the full picture of who we are becoming in Christ.
Love is the foundation — the root that anchors every other fruit.
Joy gives us strength no circumstance can shake.
Peace guards our minds when chaos rises.
Patience teaches us to trust God’s timing.
Kindness displays the compassion of Christ.
Goodness keeps our character aligned with God’s heart.
Faithfulness makes us steady, dependable, and consistent.
Gentleness softens us so heaven can be seen through us.
Self-control disciplines us so nothing pulls us out of God’s will.
Each fruit is evidence that the Spirit lives in us. Together, they shape our witness, stabilize our walk, and transform our character. They are not fruits we pick and choose — they are fruits the Spirit produces when we surrender daily.
This series reminds us that being Spirit-filled is more than a feeling…
It’s a lifestyle.
It’s character.
It’s growth.
It’s transformation from the inside out.
And as we continue walking with God, we don’t ask for these fruits in pieces — we ask Him to complete the work He’s doing in us so that every fruit matures, ripens, and shows the world who Jesus really is.
Final Prayer~
Lord, thank You for every fruit Your Spirit produces in us. Help us to walk in love, shine with joy, stand in peace, wait with patience, respond with kindness, live with goodness, remain faithful, move with gentleness, and walk in self-control. Grow us, mature us, and let our lives reflect Your glory.
In Jesus Name,
Amen.
