Devotional: We Must Have It — "Longsuffering"

Our Fruit we examine this week is longsuffering. It is also known as patience in some translations.

Patience is not simply waiting — it’s how we wait. Anybody can wait, but Spirit-filled patience waits without complaining, without forcing, without giving up on God’s timing.

Patience says, “I trust God enough to move when He moves.” It reminds us that His delays are not denials, and His timing is always perfect.

The truth is, we must have patience, because impatience can cause us to step outside of God’s will. Abraham and Sarah grew impatient and birthed Ishmael instead of waiting for Isaac. But when we let patience grow in us, we learn to endure trials, hold on to promises, and rest in the God who never fails.

Patience is not weakness — it’s strength under control. It’s proof that the Spirit is teaching us how to endure with grace.

Self examination Question~ In what areas is God requiring me to wait in this season? How has my thoughts changed for better as I am waiting?

Prayer~

Lord, grow patience in me. Teach me to wait well, to trust Your timing, and to endure with faith. Help me not to rush what You are perfecting in my life.

In Jesus Mighty matchless name,

Amen!
