Devotional: We Must Have the Fruit — Kindness
Week 5- The Fruit of the Spirit “Kindness”
Scripture-“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23
Kindness is love in action. It’s more than being “nice” — it’s showing the heart of Christ through the way we treat others.
The Spirit grows kindness in us so that we can reflect God’s compassion to a hurting world. Jesus Himself was often “moved with compassion” before He healed, taught, or fed the people (Mark 6:34). In other words, kindness positioned Him for ministry.
We must have kindness, because without it, our witness loses power. People may forget our sermons or songs, but they’ll always remember how we made them feel. Kindness softens hearts, breaks down walls, and opens doors for the gospel.
Kindness doesn’t mean weakness — it means strength that chooses gentleness. It’s being tender when life gives us every reason to be hard. It’s speaking life when negativity surrounds us.
Prayer:
Lord, clothe me with kindness. Let my words heal and not wound, my actions build up and not tear down. May others see Your love through the way I treat them.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
