The Fruit of the Spirit
Week 2: Joy- Found in Christ who lives in us
Joy is not the same as happiness. Happiness depends on what happens around us, but joy comes from who lives within us. The Spirit produces joy that cannot be shaken by storms, silenced by trials, or stolen by circumstances.
Joy is evidence that we are rooted in Christ. It’s not optional — it’s a fruit we must carry. Why? Because the world is watching how we endure, how we smile through tears, how we trust God even when it hurts. Joy becomes our testimony.
Even David prayed, “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation” (Psalm 51:12). Meaning, joy is tied to remembering we’ve been saved, forgiven, and loved beyond measure. When the Spirit fills us, joy overflows.
So today, no matter what you face, guard your joy. Choose it. Protect it. Let it shine, because Spirit-filled believers must walk with Spirit-given joy.
Question to Consider~
In what areas can I be more joyful, really applying Joy that only Christ gives in my life?
Prayer~
Lord, thank You for the gift of joy. Remind me that it is not found in what I see, but in who You are. Fill me again with the joy of Your salvation, and let my life be a witness that You are my strength and my song.
In Jesus Name,
AMEN
