"Deliberate Surrender — Laying Down Control"
Scripture~
““Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.””
Luke 22:42 NIV
Devotional~
Surrender is not passive—it is deliberate. Jesus modeled intentional surrender when He prayed, “Not My will, but Yours be done.” He chose alignment with the Father even when the assignment was heavy.
Intentionality requires us to lay down control daily. It asks us to trust God’s wisdom over our understanding and His timing over our urgency.
Surrender on purpose is an act of faith. It says, “God, I trust You with outcomes I cannot control.”
Prayer~
Father,
I release my need to control. I surrender my plans, expectations, and timelines to You.
Align my will with Yours, oh Lord.
Make my walk an intentional walk where you lead and guide. God I let go,
Control is not my portion, I trust your plan God. Make me wiser and intentional that I glorify you in all things.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
Reflection~
What am I holding onto that God is asking me to surrender?
