“Intentionality” “Anchored and Accountable — Living Before God”
Scripture~Colossians 3:23
"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”
Devotional~
Intentionality reaches its deepest level when we become aware that we are not just living life—we are living it before God.
It is easy to be intentional when people are watching. It is easy to say the right things, serve faithfully, and carry ourselves well in public spaces. But true intentionality is revealed in the unseen places—in our thoughts, our private decisions, our quiet responses, and the moments where no one would ever know but Him.
This scripture shifts our perspective. It reminds us that whatever you do—not just the spiritual things, not just the visible things—but everything, is done as unto the Lord.
This means:
• The way you respond when you’re frustrated matters.
• The way you steward your time when no one is checking matters.
• The way you handle your heart when you’re hurt matters.
• The way you obey when it’s inconvenient matters.
Intentional living removes the performance and replaces it with purpose.
When you are anchored in God, you stop living for applause and start living from alignment. You no longer need recognition to validate your obedience because you understand that God sees, God knows, and God honors faithfulness.
There is a holy awareness that begins to settle in your spirit. It’s not fear—it’s reverence. It’s the understanding that your life is not your own. Every moment becomes an opportunity to honor Him.
Intentionality says:
Even here, God, I choose You.
Even in this conversation, I will honor You.
Even in this decision, I will align with You.
This is where maturity lives.
This is where transformation deepens.
This is where God begins to trust you with more—because He knows your obedience is not conditional on who is watching.
When you live anchored in Him, you become steady. You are no longer pulled by emotions, distracted by opinions, or driven by temporary feelings. You are grounded.
And from that place, your life becomes consistent—not perfect—but consistent in its pursuit of His heart.
Prayer~
Father God, let my life be lived before You. Remove every desire in me that seeks validation from people more than alignment with You. Teach me to be intentional in the private places, faithful in the unseen places, and obedient in the hard places.
Anchor my heart so deeply in You that my decisions reflect Your will without hesitation. Let my life honor You in word, in action, and in motive.
Even when no one sees, remind me that You do.
I choose to live accountable to You, surrendered to You, and aligned with You.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

• Where has God been calling me to greater intentionality that I’ve been delaying?
• What would change if I truly lived every moment aware of His presence?
